Membership in Temple Beth Sholom Sisterhood means you are a part of an extended family. Here, Jewish women can come together in a supportive and friendly atmosphere to participate in a variety of activities to support Temple Beth Sholom and the communities in which we live. Our focus is to foster an inclusive atmosphere with the warm, open, friendly spirit we so value at TBS. We hope to achieve this through organizing programs and activities where women can meet to participate in events, share experiences, and spend time in a comfortable and relaxing environment making new friends and growing existing friendships.

TBS Sisterhood programs and activities not only enhance the lives of the participants, but enrich the congregation, support the religious school, and benefit our neighbors. We are a vital organization that provides educational, cultural, and social opportunities that increase our knowledge of Judaism and create a sense of community.

One of TBS Sisterhood's key goals is to facilitate friendships through volunteerism. We plan to achieve this by organizing family events, community service projects, fundraisers, and social functions. Some programs we have organized include Shabbat Dinners for the Congregation, Passover Cooking Classes, Family Picnics, a Food Drive, and Mitzvah Day Projects including working with the elderly. Every Purim, our Sisterhood comes together for our Mishloach Manot fundraiser, where we assemble platters of tasty Purim treats which are then delivered to Temple members. This year promises to be especially exciting with the following events planned out - a Sisterhood-sponsored Shabbat Dinner, a Decorate the Sukkah project with the Hebrew School children, a Dreidel Program for Chanukah, a Toy Drive, a "Tween" Disco Party with neighboring temples, a Passover Recipe Exchange, a quarterly Book Club, and a very active Mah Jongg group that plays weekly.

Sisterhood also provides invaluable services to our Temple; we organize babysitting during the high holidays and hold fundraisers that enable us to make donations to support our synagogue.

Sisterhood of Temple Beth Sholom welcomes all Jewish women, whether or not you are a TBS member. Membership for Temple members is free; non-members of the Temple may join Sisterhood for a nominal annual donation. Also, you will receive the TBS monthly newsletter, the Kol Sholom, which will keep you informed of all of the Temple's current events.

Participation in TBS Sisterhood is an exceptionally rewarding and fulfilling experience. We are always seeking new, active members and encourage you to become a part of our exciting organization. Please feel free to contact the Temple office if you have any questions or if you would like any additional information. We're looking forward to seeing you at our next event.
